We recently bought a nice home with a horribly executed patio. After any number of discussions with unimpressive contractors and so-called experts, we met with Ben Browne of Browne & Associates, and within minutes it was clear we were speaking the same language. Browne had what we were looking for: impressive design and contracting skills, a thorough knowledge of what to plant where and which materials to use, and perhaps most of all a hard-working crew that paid attention to each and every detail. The result was a gorgeous patio that became something of a neighborhood attraction, with an outdoor grill, fire pit, seating walls, stunning lighting design, and great sound, subtly executed. Equally important, Brown & Associates service after the sale is first rate. After the patio project was complete, Ben and his crew kept coming over and tweaking things: a couple of plants didn’t live up to expectations, stair lighting was too bright, the lighting system had circuit breaker bugs, and several other items didn’t live up to Ben’s stringent standards: each was fixed or replaced without a word – or an invoice: the tasks were suggested by Ben as often as not.

Browne & Associates is a professional, detail-oriented team. Ben Browne immediately grasped the vision we had and he and his team executed it perfectly. Our backyard went from a bare cement pad to a beautifully landscaped space, complete with multi-level flagstone patio, built-in fireplace, hot tub, built-in grill and granite-topped island. Ben and his team took care of every detail from start to finish. Ben kept us informed of the progress, and had us make decisions at key points along the way. Otherwise, we did not need to monitor the project closely to keep things moving. Ben’s team showed up each day and worked consistently until the job was done. We went through 4 different landscape design companies and spent tens of thousands of dollars re-doing our landscaping before finding Browne & Associates. They were the first company that understood the architecture of our home (mid-century modern) and the first to develop a plan that fit with our aesthetics and our budget. Working with Ben proved to be a smooth, collaborative & seamless experience and the end result reflects this! He has been consistently reliable throughout every stage of design, installation and on-going maintenance, and he went above and beyond to deliver on all of his promises. In short, it has been a complete pleasure to work with them and I’ll never look for another landscape company, now that I’ve found the best.

After spending several years getting quotes to rebuild retaining walls and to create an outdoor hardscape living area with a fireplace, we were lucky to have found Ben Browne. Most of the estimates we kept getting were outrageous (in our estimation) and the prior landscape bidders didn’t even want to listen to what our vision was. Ben Browne not only listened but his creative custom design skills made it easy for us to visualize our outdoor living area, but most importantly; HE LISTENED!. The project started on time, was finished when he said it would be finished and it turned out perfectly! His workmen were skilled in their attention to detail and the work area was always cleaned up at night and there were no unsightly messes to deal with every day. The vendor that we chose to pick the hardscape material asked us who we were using for our project and when I told them, Ben Browne, they had nothing but praise for him. So, if you, too, have put off your dream project or just need to update or change, we would highly recommend Ben Browne for your project.

Three years ago we built our home and at the time we did the minimal amount of landscape required. The main challenge we kept running into was that all the landscapers we spoke with wanted to just landscape the current layout and did not really have any good ideas on how to make it unique. I had Ben come out to the house after reading several reviews similar to the one I am writing now. From the minute Ben arrived I knew it was going to be a good experience. He was professionally dressed, well-mannered and above all extremely knowledgeable and passionate. He first asked if he could walk the property and get a feel for the surroundings. He then came in and sat down with my wife and me and discussed what we would like to do with the property. After an hour or so of discussion we decided to move forward on entire redesign of the property including pool, pool house and pizza oven. After several iterations our plan was done and we could not have been more pleased. Bens design architect skills are as good as any of the big names in the industry and he was an absolute pleasure to deal with during the entire process. From there we broke up the project into two phases. The redesign of the entire front of the home along with a total rework around the northern side of the house, this was completed in the summer of 2011. Then from November of 2011 – June of 2012 we completed the pool, pool house, fencing, pizza oven and hot tub areas. It is absolutely breathtaking! The quality of Ben’s workmanship is without a question the best I have ever seen. He is hands on and expects perfection. His pricing is very fair and his timeliness and quality is bar none. Any issues we have had with anything over the past years he has addressed immediately and happily. I have learned over the years that you really do get what you pay for and with Ben you even get a little bit more.

I waited to post this reveiw because I thought it would be good to have a review 2 years after the work was completed in order to give the durability perspective. We all know that the work should look amazing immediately after completion and those are typically the pictures you see on various websites. I actually sent to Ben some pictures of the patio they completed in April of 2011. The other thing to consider is that many of the pictures you see on various websites are extremely elaborate. We live in a modest home in Highlands Ranch and thus were looking for a company that had a portfolio history of excellent, elaborate, and expensive previous projects, but were willing to help create a tasteful patio for our limited space.

We found the perfect Company in Browne & Associates!! The best part about working with Ben was his ability and willingness to listen to my vision and help create exactly what we were looking for. Certainly every home owner has his/her own ideas and Ben truly listened. He also made sure that what I envisioned was cost effective via materials and design. Ben also discussed the importance of utilizing materials that took the impact of Colorado’s weather into account for the various patio material options available. We ultimately decided to go with a patio of pavers, supported by a concrete/brick facing curtain wall. Ben accomplished my fire pit and seating wall design too. The work was completed in the appropriate time as estimated by Ben for the job, and the crew was extremely hardworking and respectful our our property. After getting etimates from several different companies for our Hardscape needs, I can honestly say that Browne & Associates number is in my cell phone and we do not look to anyone else!

Browne and Associates recently remodeled our backyard and the side yards to our home When we purchased this 27 year old home two years ago the property was very overgrown with shrubs that hadn’t been trimmed in the past 10 years There were several dead trees in the backyard and the side yard had steps made of rotting railroad ties which meandered in a winding senseless pathway to the back of the house The other side yard sloped and was paved with flagstones which had lifted out of the ground at different levels so that one couldn’t navigate the yard without tripping.

We weren’t aware of the extent of the work required until the spring arrived and we were faced with a mess. This was a very large job Ben’s design was so exciting that we decided to go ahead with the project this past fall. The project included removal of everything in the back yard including most of the topsoil which was full of rocks, Ben’s team built a pergola to provide some shade, constructed a large outdoor kitchen, a fire pit, retaining walls, paver patio, placed the trampoline into the ground, moved play equipment, constructed steps on both sides of the house.

They replaced all the topsoil, shrubs, replaced the drainage system, new sprinkler system, new sod, added mulch, ground lighting etc, etc. The workers led by the foreman Cesaer are some of the hardest workers I have had work on any project in my home. Ben and his team are perfectionists, pleasant to interact with and honest in every aspect of the work. We look forward to having Ben back this spring to do more planting. I have recommended him to my son who wishes to redo his backyard and I would recommend Browne and Associates to anyone. His designs are beautiful, the work is very high quality and he is a pleasure to work with.

Browne and Associates did a great job executing to my existing landscaping plan. The demolition went smoothly and they were careful with the existing landscape. The patio, seating wall, and fire pit they created are lovely. They also reshaped my landscape borders, added edging and moved sprinkler heads. The project finished on time, on budget despite a bit of rain and they left no mess for me. The crew was polite and their follow through and management was impeccable. I have already recommended them to a friend.

My wife and I chose Browne & Associates to landscape the front yard of our home in the Highlands. They did an awesome job recommending a suitable long-term plan within our budget, assisting us in plant & tree selection. The crew worked super hard and completed the job on time, in a professional manner, all within budget and no surprises. Neighbors have commented on how great the job looks and we love the stripstone edging and finer details. They went beyond the call of duty and assisted us with recommendations for our irrigation system and trained us how to lay drip lines for our future garden. I hired Ben to do a full-scale front and rear-yard landscaping project on a “small-ish” city lot in an urban neighborhood. The project included quite a bit of hardscape and soft-scape, and Ben listened carefully to my vision for what I wanted and devised a plan to match those specifications. We met with Ben on a snowy April day and tried to articulate our idea for an outdoor space. As we sat at at our kitchen table looking out at the bare trees and snow-covered ground, Ben immediately grasped our vision and ran with it. He took our thoughts and flushed out a plan that exceeded our expectations – but not our budget.

After seeing the inside of our house, Ben gently suggested that our front walk didn’t live up to the remodeled interior. He suggested a new walkway that has become the talk of the neighborhood. My husband and I started working on a backyard project design last spring. It was a long drawn out process with other landscaping companies, until we heard about Ben Browne and Associates. My husband and I are the type of people who know exactly what we want; “it can’t be done” is not in our mind set. We had in mind pretty extensive remodeling project plan for the exterior of our home. Our goal was to create pleasant outdoor living environment, superior curb appeal, and to increase our property value.

We interviewed few different landscaping design companies and contracted Browne & Associates, LLC to do the initial design. We really appreciated their talent in the design and the fact that the company actually does the work, instead of subcontracting the work, was the key to our decision in going with Browne & Associates, LLC.

The crew that created the master pieces was probably the most dependable and courteous contractors my husband and I ever had the pleasure to work with in our all past major remodel projects. The project remodeled the back yard landscaping including the enormous paved patio, the front yard landscaping to the paved walk ways to the giant stone steps to the pillars to effacing the exterior of the house with beautiful stone. The surrounding neighbors were WOWED at the transformations. The whole project turned out better then expected!

The entire project cost under $65,000 and the credit really goes to Browne & Associates in how they helped us stay on budget to the actual design plan by suggesting various alternatives to achieve the look and purpose without going over the budget.

Ben and his crew went above and beyond for my pool and patio project. From design through construction, the process was well oriented and professional. I would highly recommend Browne & Associates and am happy to share my experience with anyone who has questions about his process and services.

I’ve been working with Ben for over a year on a large backyard pool project. I kept changing the design. Every change required new plans and approvals. I never met someone so patient and understanding. Plus his own ideas and designs were so helpful. I could tell he loves what he does and is willing to spend hours on designs. Like a passionate artist. The project came out insane. My kids and their friends never leave the house. Ben created a 4 season playground. Pool, fire pits, hot tub, kitchen, gazebo, fire place…wow.

Browne & Associates renovated my backyard the winter/spring 2024. The job was no small task and the first step was to fill in a swimming pool. The backyard turned out to be spectacular and it's perfect for relaxing and entertaining. The owner/architect worked directly with us and he and his crews were highly professional, prompt, clean, and delivered on every single promise, including staying on the timeline down to the exact date. I would not use anyone else for a landscape project!! Zero negatives to say.

Browne and Associates Custom Landscaping completed our landscaping in 2018 and did an awesome job! Just look at the portfolio of jobs they have completed on the website to see for yourself how masterful they are. This review will focus on something else…… as opposed to how wonderful their design and installs are. The support after they had wrapped up was terrific. I had sprinkler issues after the fact (my doing), and they came out a remedied. They always took care of “things” after the proverbial sale and that meant the world to us. We had Ben’s support long after they had completed our landscaping. They always did exactly what they said they would do….showed up when they said they would, etc. They were flexible when we made changes to the plan on the fly and always accommodated us! Ben’s is great and his team is as well. All his guys were awesome to work with……..courteous, friendly, very hard working, diligent, etc. Ben is lucky to have such a great team! But I suppose this is due to the fact that Ben must be a great guy to work for. Highly recommend!!

Working with Ben is always an ease, which I find rare when working with vendors. He is responsive and thorough when planning and executing each project. There was at one point his crew found a sprinkler line that had been broken by a different company doing work on the house and they came in on a Saturday to make sure it was repaired. It wasn't their job to do but they made sure it was done quickly and correctly. I cannot recommend Browne & Associates enough.

We hired Browne and Associates to completely reimagine our front and backyard both hardscape and landscape and he did a fantastic job! They were a one-stop-shop for everything from design and planning, electrical, gas, and more. They gave us great referrals for tree removal services and managed the project closely. All of the team members were professional and friendly. They regularly provided us realistic updates on our timelines as weather delayed our project longer than anticipated. We get so many compliments on our yard and truly love the way it turned out!

We began our extensive back yard project in the middle of last winter. Ben Browne’s design was well planned and truly spectacular. It included gardens, a water feature, fire pit, extensive walks and courtyards. Hundreds of new plants, shrubs and trees were installed as we are particularly fond of the rose and boxwood gardens. Our project was completed on time and on budget. We have worked with several other landscape design firms over the years, but Ben Browne & Associates is by far the most talented. Simply the best! Highly recommended by us.

We've recently finished our work with Ben and I felt compelled to do something I never do, write a review! My wife and I recently built a home and have dealt with no less than twenty sub-contractors, Ben being at the top of the list.

Ben designed a perfect front and back yard for us from scratch in Washington Park with a beautiful landscape wall, back patio, trees, bushes, shrubs, and a pool. We were given drawings of many different options with detailed explanations helping guide us toward the perfect yard. Everything was not perfect because no construction job is but the difference that we noticed with Ben versus other subcontractors was Ben fixed things no questions asked or even came to us explaining that something needed to be fixed and why. He takes pride in his jobs which is very rare given the amount work that's around town right now.

I've noticed other reviews talk about "big jobs" or "arrogance" which I feel should be addressed. We decided most everything on our project but when there were certain areas where he thought we were making the "wrong" decision he simply gave us his honest opinion on what he thought and it was great. Someone working in construction who's honest? Sign me up! We did plenty of due diligence in terms of price vs results, we were charged a fair price for the work that's been done and what we've been left with is a yard that's no less than stunning.
